Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will serve as a technical driver for Generative AI initiatives within Institutional Banking. This position blends hands-on engineering, applied AI experimentation, and emerging technology evaluation. The engineer will turn early‑stage concepts into functional prototypes, assess new AI capabilities, and help guide viable solutions through governance and into production.

This role requires someone who is highly autonomous, curious, and comfortable navigating both technical and business conversations. The engineer will act as a trusted advisor on modern AI tools, industry trends, and practical enterprise applications of Generative AI.

Primary Responsibilities

Build and deliver prototypes and production-grade AI solutions using modern engineering practices and cloud-native architectures.
Investigate new GenAI tools, platforms, and vendor offerings to determine their relevance for Institutional Banking use cases.
Develop AI-powered applications and workflows leveraging LLMs, RAG patterns, agent-based systems, document intelligence, automation platforms, APIs, and cloud services.
Convert business opportunities into functional software by rapidly experimenting, validating concepts, and demonstrating feasibility.
Partner with Institutional Banking stakeholders to identify areas where AI can enhance productivity, decision-making, client experience, operational efficiency, or risk mitigation.
Contribute technical details, documentation, and risk considerations for governance, compliance, and model review processes.
Support teams preparing governance submissions by articulating solution design, risks, controls, and implementation strategies.
Monitor industry developments and communicate insights, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership.
Build integrations between AI platforms, enterprise systems, and cloud environments.
Establish engineering patterns, reusable components, and best practices for AI solution development.
Write clean, secure, maintainable, and testable code independently.
Produce technical documentation, reference architectures, implementation guides, presentations, and demo materials.
Present prototypes, findings, and solution roadmaps to business and technology leaders.
Assist with production deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of GenAI-enabled solutions.
Stay current on regulatory, governance, security, and risk considerations related to AI and incorporate appropriate safeguards into designs.
Perform additional duties as needed and adhere to all client policies and professional standards.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience building distributed or web-based software applications.
Proven experience developing solutions using modern languages, frameworks, APIs, and cloud services.
Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs, or AI-enabled applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly and operate independently.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ownership of complex technical challenges from concept through delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GCP and/or Microsoft Azure.
Background implementing or evaluating RAG architectures, agentic AI workflows, document intelligence tools, or workflow automation platforms.
Experience working in regulated industries and collaborating with governance, risk, compliance, security, or legal teams.
Experience assessing vendor technologies and providing recommendations to leadership.
Prior involvement in innovation programs, proof-of-concept development, or technical experimentation.
