Senior Project Manager

A leading building envelope consulting and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex investigations, design work, peer reviews, and construction-phase services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical leadership position, enjoys mentoring others, and is comfortable serving as a primary client-facing expert.

You will guide project managers and technicians, lead building envelope assessments, develop design documents, support bidding and construction activities, and ensure high-quality deliverables across new construction and remediation projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Management

  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers and field technicians
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders

Building Envelope Investigations

  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations of roofing, glazing, and waterproofing systems
  • Identify sources of water intrusion and material deterioration
  • Prepare detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and cost estimates
  • Review and approve reports prepared by junior staff

Peer Review & Technical Evaluation

  • Review drawings and specifications for new construction
  • Provide redline markups and lead client review meetings
  • Document action items and follow-up requirements

Design & Documentation

  • Lead the development of plans, elevations, and technical details
  • Prepare and review technical specifications

Bidding & Construction Support

  • Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings
  • Conduct site visits and generate observation reports
  • Support construction-phase quality assurance

Testing & Quality Control

  • Coordinate and interpret field performance testing
  • Oversee teams performing building envelope testing

Professional Development

  • Attend company-sponsored training, seminars, and continuing education programs

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam
  • At least one of the following certifications:
    • IIBEC Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
    • IIBEC Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC)
    • IIBEC Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
  • Minimum 10 years of building envelope consulting experience, including:
  • Leading peer reviews for new construction
  • Serving as lead designer for roof replacement and façade repair projects
  • Managing construction-phase services for both new and existing buildings

 

Work Arrangement

Hybrid role based in Austin, TX.
Employees are expected to work onsite at least 3 days per week during the first six months.
A transition to fully remote work may be considered after performance review.
