Assurance Services Manager

The Assurance Services Manager plays a pivotal role in managing assurance engagements across a diverse range of industry sectors. This position acts as a technical resource, assisting engagement teams in applying professional standards and internal policies. The manager is responsible for the thorough review and timely completion of assurance projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with partners, team members, and client personnel to ensure effective engagement management.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting standards, as well as auditing and review service procedures.
  • Plan, supervise, and finalize assurance engagements in accordance with firm service standards.
  • Identify and communicate accounting and assurance-related issues to engagement teams.
  • Recognize and recommend opportunities for process improvements.
  • Communicate directly with clients to address engagement matters.
  • Supervise and mentor assurance staff assigned to engagements.
  • Develop and monitor engagement budgets to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Review engagement documentation and work papers for accuracy and compliance with firm policies and professional standards, including financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering technical training sessions for the department.
  • Contribute to the development of team members by serving as a mentor, coach, or career advocate as assigned.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback in support of the firm’s performance management process.
  • Contribute positively to recruitment, education, and retention initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in assurance services.
  • CPA designation (required).
  • Strong supervisory, analytical, and leadership abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet client requirements, deliver high-quality services, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and assurance services, including the application of general theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel required); experience with electronic audit environments such as ProSystems, EngagementFX, Creative Solutions, or CaseWare preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional ethics.
  • Ability to contribute effectively to the success of a strategic business unit within the firm.
