This senior-level position leads survey operations for a growing civil and transportation practice. The Senior Survey Operations Manager oversees daily field and office survey activities, ensures technical excellence, and strengthens client relationships across state and municipal projects. This role combines operational leadership, staff development, and hands‑on coordination with public agencies.
Direct and schedule daily work for multiple field crews and office survey technicians
Oversee QA/QC processes, project budgets, timelines, and client communication
Coordinate survey efforts for roadway, utility corridor, and transportation projects with state DOTs and local municipalities
Support business development through proposal input and client relationship building
Mentor and coach staff through regular check‑ins, performance planning, and career development
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
12+ years of progressive survey experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or crew‑lead role
Strong background in DOT and municipal survey projects
Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local survey regulations
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with subsurface utility locating/designating
Familiarity with LiDAR, aerial mapping, or sUAS workflows
Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or civil technology
